The birth of a poem...

The essence of very tiny detail, like a carefully placed comma, or an invisible sigh of admiration, distilled into dewdrops sliding over the long green leaves that protect tulips from overexposure, redeeming the beautiful bold color and adding a dimension of its own.

Then letting it go into thin air, like a weightless particle, arriving in far-away places, like a carefully thought-out idea, a blissful singular event, a flash of infinitesimal brightness, arriving at noon, completely negating shadows and at the same time completely absolving them.

The reign of calm arrived with these words and it is here to stay...

Let me be the downy snow that gathers at your knees
As you pray to the rising wintry sun
Let me be the star of fixed certainty
For you're not the only one
Wandering aimlessly
Seeking celestial remedies
That never come
Perfectly suited to earthly hopes and desires.
Light the fire of a thousand suns in the darkest night
And then darker despair follows
As the dawn finds you praying.
Let me bring the gifts of silence and the sense of direction
For when the wind changes, everything takes a turn
For better for worse
The wind knows
But it's the new way that makes the fire burn
Darkness is a curse
But we can break the spell and make it better
Let me in
Empty as they seem they're not just words
Let it be
The soul knows
